Just like she's always done, Alexia hides the fact that she can think for herself, and that she hates the authorities have chosen everything for her entire life.

Alexia's chosen mate happens to be the heart-throb of all the angels in the entire City, Gabriel. Unfortunately, he also happens to be the Overlod's son. This would be any other angel's dream, but not hers. It's hard not to blame the Overlords own son for just being who he is, but she manages it. In fact she becomes very close to Gabe...

...Until she meets her new weapons partner the first day at her job. Her entire world is flipped upside down, in the best way possible when Shadow becomes part of her life. This demon with deep, dark secrets, stays on her mind constantly and she can't deny her attraction to the quiet, mysterious boy.

Alexia's world will never be the same again as she faces death, free-will, and forbidden love.

Secrets. Betrayal. Hope. Pain. Sacrifice. Love

My Review:
Read from August 25 to 27, 2012
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

It saddens me that I have to give this book a 3 star rating according to what Goodreads has available but in all reality I give this book at 3.5. This is because this book has quite a few spelling and word placement errors, that is actually quite common in new authors and some who self-publish their books. That however did NOT distract me from the storyline. But this is my most honest and sincere review to the very end.
This author has done an excellent job of creating her characters, and building her world. While reading this I could picture a massive giant square terrain surrounded by a huge wall, with the city where the “kinds” go to get mated, and then the communities where the “kinds” all live, this is called the “Domain” in this book. Then I can picture it close to the coast and this exquisitely beautiful island a little ways off from the shore. Then what is all surrounding the “Domain” is a giant desert wasteland full off death and the reminiscence of times that have passed.
As with all dystopian type books, there is usually a monarchy that rules the area where life is sustainable, this book is no different than the others. However, not only do they have that one ruler who is called the “Overlord” the main angel in charge, but the “kinds” have another problem that has arisen. Creatures called the Hell Horde has escaped from hell, and is about to wage war against, the Domain and the “Kinds”. But this is just the backstory.
The main focus of this story is about Alexia. Alexia just like with any other angel or rather any other of the “kinds” has to go to the city to be mated off cause she has finally reached eighteen. But she’s a rebel at heart and disagrees with the arranged marriage and all the strict rules placed on her and the rest of the “kinds”. So during these ceremonies she is paired up with this Demon called Shadow, she is his weapon maker for when he goes into battle. They start to get to know a little bit, and Shadow really intrigues her. Well unknown to Alexia, Shadow has his own secret, and for some reason he trusts her enough to keep his secret. When he finally reveals it, she is quite impressed with him and his secrets. He teaches her something’s and protects her from harm done by the Hell Horde. Which he endures an arrow from them into his side, which brings them into this cave, where Shadow ends up revealing more of himself to Alexia, she then starts falling for him hardcore and him for her, but they really don’t know they are.
Mating ritual time comes, and Alexia is mated to Gabriel… who is the hottest, most powerful angel there is besides the overlord, who happens to be Gabe's father. She has to spend time with him and even live with him and sleep in the same bed, since the purpose is to mate and seal the bonding which can only be done by sexual intercourse. Alexia already feeling bad for betraying Gabe in so many ways even before they were officially paired up, she tries to keep her distance as much as she can away from him, because her heart belongs to another already.
Furthermore this as a whole is really good, and I would recommend it to others, because even though there is editing errors, the storyline is strong, and I cannot wait for the next book to come out because I’m curious what ends up happening to these characters I’m getting to know.

My review:
Read from August 21 to 22, 2012
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
As a final book to the series, it wasn't half bad. Though it seemed kind of rushed, and it seemed to lack the flair the other books even the later of the series, where the direction took a different course. But it was very nice to see the original flock all together again, even with the added Dylan to it. The book though had definitely gotten better, when Fang returned to Max and the flock. My opinion is, is that he should've never left. Dylan doesn't belong with Max, never did, regardless of what those people had said. Fang and Max always belonged together. They are ying and yang, peanut butter jelly, the other half to their souls. So it was great when the book went back into the direction of them getting together, than the direction of Max and Dylan though don't get me wrong Dylan was okay, he just wasn't Fang. But now for the storyline. Ummmmmm, well, ok it definitely lacked finesse, though the ending that was actually quite unique, and really I thought super cool. Except the whole part about Max's mom being brainwashed, and how Jeb's power was washed away, that seemed a little hokey. The island, and the total apacolyptic wash out of the island, and half the island under water, and up high cliffs.... it was completely perfect... except that the rest of the flock was trapped underwater in caves. But all in all it was a nice ending especially when Max finally told Fang that she "loved him"

My Review:

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Okay, so honestly i'm going to have to say this was NOT my fav of the series. I think it ran on a little too long, it took me a few days to read this because it wasn't grabbing my focus like the other's have. The story line was still good, and I'm kind of sad that Kade went home alone, and Opal married Devlen, but I guess that's ok he deemed to be an ok guy in this book. It was pretty sad that Opal had lost her powers, only to get them back to be used for evil, only to lose them again willingly to kill off the evil that was using her and her powers. It was a nice ending though, I'm glad Opal decided to keep the kids, I think they would be good for her. But I definitely liked the last sentence "welcome to our herd." very nice.

Trying to break my writers block...

I have uploaded the 5 chapters of my book to my kindle fire, in hopes that if I read through it all I will be able to reconnect with those creative juices to get back to writing, because I really think my book has potential and the few who have read it love it and want more.  But I just hit a wall and it has been HUGE... I haven't been able to get over it.  So hopefully this will do. :)

My Review

Destined by P.C. Cast
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Well first this I actually enjoyed this book, it's a nice reprieve from the past few books. However, Zoey, her character is quite childish and heavily irritating. I used to like her but ummm not so much anymore.

I still like the others though, like Raphiem, I love him! Stevie Rae eh she is usually ok, this book she was slightly irritating especially when it came to Raphiem's relationship with Kalona (who I still love btw *winks*). Kalona showed a different side of himself in this book, he showed a nurturing and compassionate side, the side where he had missed his favorite child, his favorite son, Raphiem. He missed Raphiem, and through this book he showed the softer side of him, it was great. Shaunee had finally broken away from Erin, it was quite nice to see their personalities separately.

But what I loved about this book was "Aurox" I had thought basically from the very beginning that he was sounding very familiar to an old character of the series. So when his inner self was revealed I wasn't surprised at all.

Also Kalona has gone to the side of good, he is going to be Thanatos's Warrior. Now that deems to make things a little more interesting in future books, considering I still see something going on between him and Zoey.

My Review:
Read from August 15 to 18, 2012
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Dorian, I've felt bad for since meeting him in the first book. With the loss of his sister and the fact of being latent. I always felt, that he needed a good story, that he needed to find his happily ever after everything he had been through. After having saved some children from a psy lab, Dorian had met Ashaya the mother of Keenan, the psy child Dorian and other members of his pack, had rescued. Throughout this book after Ashaya had escaped from the lab in search for her son to make sure he lived, she comes across Dorian. Interesting enough is that since these two met in the last book, they have been having wild erotic dreams of each other. But afraid to let herself go because of her sociopath twin sister Amara, becoming a menace and hurting people. So she struggles with Dorian, knowing that they belong together, and that her son is save and sound and clearly linked & attached to Dorian. Meanwhile, the psy council is on the hunt for Ashaya, because she is the key to some of their major plans. While reading this book, not only was there romance, and clearly some action (not talking about the sex *winks*) there is more plotting going on. It's definitely keeping me intrigue'd so that the romance parts don't start to get stale. I also love these books, and it's going to sound silly, but I love these books, because I love how the layouts of these people's houses are, caves, treehouses, glass houses covered entirely by vines and forest foliage. It's crazy I know but I love hearing the style of all the different domains in these books, it makes the world more vibrant in my eyes. So it's makes everything else even more vibrant because the packs are hidden well within the forest, so you have to imagine the creativity put into the housing arrangement of these changling. Anywho, I love this series and i'm gonna continue to read them until the come to their conclusion.

OK so this is probably one of my favorite series now. The way the Armentrout sucks you into this world is phenomenal. I mean the minute I had read "Shadows" I knew I was going to be hooked into this series. But now after reading "Onyx" and omg I just didn't want it to end, I don't want to have to wait the continuation of Daemon and Katy's adventures, including Dee who omg I feel so bad for it made me want to cry. And Blake that punk ass, gawd I knew something wasn't right about him, or Will that creep he just seemed to be too good to be true, in any case he was. Then Ash semi-sort of chilling out on Katy, mmhmm what is going on there I wonder. But the ending OMG OMG OMg!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so glad I don't have to wait like a year for "Opal" to come out, and fortunately is comes out in December it's going to be a killer wait, but fortunately I have other books to keep me occupied, plus school, plus life until then. I JUST LOVE THIS SERIES! I would recommend this series to the dead if I could. =^.^=

I give this one a 3.5

I wasn't too impressed with it in the long run. I really enjoyed the parts between Kaylee and Nash. It took me a little bit to read this because for some reason it just couldn't hold my attention like the first book did. So, I'm hoping the next one is better because I've heard so many things about this series that tells me it's great, and with the first one I see it has potential but this just did not float my boat.

When Aidan suddenly appears and takes her hostage, Brie cannot believe how dark and dangerous he has become. She knows she should be afraid, but instead, she will fight across time for his redemptionand his love.

My Review:

Dark Embrace (Rose Trilogy, #1) by Brenda Joyce
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I liked this one because Aidan, was the playboy of the group so far, and after his child was killed, he turned dark and cold. Though it was a little confusing because you know nothing of Ian's mother, or what had happened to her. And the fact that it was 60-70years in his time between the time his son was killed to the time that he had heard Brianna's screams for help. But once you get the hang of the time traveling bit its ok.

I loved the interactions between Aidan and Brianna, because he tried and tried and tried to resist her, he wanted to seem evil because that kept him going for his vengence on his father for killing his (Aidan's) son. But he just couldn't resist her after a while, and they seemed to make each other happy.

Aidan got his HEA, which was great, but one question remains with me.... What is up with Brianna's boss Nick, there is something about him. I'm dying to know but I need to get the other two books first.

Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring.... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something...unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don't kill him first, that is.

Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I had decided to start off this series by reading the short story "Shadows", Triplets Daemon, Dawson, and Dee, lived in a small town in West Virginia. In "Shadows", Dawson is the main focus in the short story, where he meets the new girl Bethany, and imidiately falls in love with her, and her him. Even through massive warnings, from Daemon and the rest of his family and friends, Dawson revfuses to let Bethany go, to where later it's impossible to let her go. Well something happened to them, and they disappeared. Claims of their death rumored around the town.

Obsidian picks up one year after Dawson and Batheny's disappearance. Katy and her mother move to West Virginia, from Florida to start a new life after the death of her father three years ago. Katy's mom wants Katy to go meet the neighbor teenagers. Katy is basicaly a recluse, she doesn't have many friends and she prefers to stay indoors and read her books, and review them on her blogs. Being new in town, she doesn't know where anything is, and she has to go to the store for food and gardening equipment. Reluctantly, she goes next door to ask her new neighbors for directions.

She knocks on the door and the door is opened and she is speechless just staring at the man standing in the door. When he finally speaks he's rude and quick with Katy. She gets aggrivated with him and starts to leave, and he reluctantly gives her the directions.

She gets to the store, where she ends up meeting Dee, Daemon's sister.
They become instant friends. And of course Daemon, and their friends don't think it's a great idea for them to be friends. Katy can't understand why they feel that way. She instead ignores them and continues to be friends with Dee. Meanwhile, the chemistry between Daemon and Katy starts to heat up, he's even given her a nickname which I just adore "Kitten. Just thinking of him saying it roll off his tongue just set my blood boiling.

Anyways, chemistry is building up as Daemon, is fighitng his urges to persue Katy. Throughout the book it is based around Daemon and Katy. Now Katy is light up light the sun, because thus be unknown to humans, Dameon, Dee, and their friends are an alien species called the Luxen, they came from the planet Lux, that was destroyed by the Arum, the creatures of the dark, the only enemy of the Luxen, has come to town. And with Katy lit up like she is she is a open target for an attack from the Arum.

Daemon saves her a few times from the Arum, and of course in doing so only brings them closer.

THe final battle of the book, something happens that causes a change in Katy, and things changes things between Daemon and Katy. He wants something more.... now does she cave into him after everything they've been through...or does she make him work for it??? I can't wait till onyx to find out.

My Review:
Read from August 8th to August 9th 2012
Vampire, Interrupted by Lynsay Sands
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

(Warning this review contains spoilers)
Since the beginning of this series I've always loved Marguarite because she's like super young looking and super old with four children, and she acts like a mother that should be in her 50' or 60's but yet again she looks like she's in her late teens early twenties. But they way she is with her kids and having something to do with every single one of them finding their lifemates was quite comical on its own, and quite canny as well. However, I've always also felt so bad for her because of what Jean Claude had done to her, and knowing he was NOT her lifemate.

Well in this story, she is on the search for Christian Notte's mother in England, this is where she ends up meeting Julius Notte, Christian's father. Though introductions are quite um dramatic since she was woken up having Julius holding Tiny up in the air by his throat, and then throwing him across the room a few times as Tony attacks him. (but here's a little seecret for you... but shhhh it's a SPOILER.... Julius and Magaurite are lifemates.... shhh don't tell anyone ok, so Julius was jealous to see Margaurite in bed with another man. But he didn't realize she was attacked and neither her or Tiny wanted to be in that room, and Tiny wanted to be close to her incase she was attacked again.)

so a little later on and I mean really a little later on like oh probably what would count as 20-30mins in the book, Christian, Marcus, and the others come to the conclusion that Julius and Margaurite are lifemates. How they found out, by the little slip ups of both Julius and Margaurite. So Julius asks his son for some help woo-ing her, or his son offers to help him, I fully can't remember on that part, but either way it doesn't matter. Because Julius decides to travel with them on the search for Christians mother, because he wants to be close to Margaurite.

Margaurite isn't quite sure why Julius is staying close by, but she goes with it, cause Margaurite keeps getting attacked. (poor lady). So throughout the book, they travel to different parts of Europe to search for clues about Christians mother, and in the meantime Julius and Margaurite get to know each other. But neither wants to disclose any information on their ex's. Funny thing though Margaurite then realizes that Julius is her lifemate. But that is only part of what makes this book interesting.

SPOILER DO NOT READ THE NEXT PART IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW THIS VITAL PART OF THE BOOK!!!!!!

What makes this boook interesting, is that Margaurite is Christians mother, that five hundred years ago, Jean Claude had presumed to be dead, and Margaurite a widow. She had met Julius back then and obviously being lifemates found each other, and fell in love, and got married and concieved a child together. BUT! right before she had given birth, someone had took control over Margaurites mind and made her give birth and had her order his son death by the maid, and then made it look like Margaurite killed the maid for disobeying. Then wiped all her memories, and placed different ones in, and then the fact that Jean Claude was not dead, and had came back for Margaurite. Thus making the rest of his life miserable for her. But at least she had gotten four children out of it that she loves more than life. Well of course Margaurite doesn't remember any of this, but Julius has proof, he has a potrait of her in his study at his home in Italy. So of course then they fly to italy, one to show her this proof and two to hopefully keep her safe from the attackers.

Once there she ends up meeting his family (again) mom and dad aren't too thrilled but Aunt Vita, she seems to be happy about it. Vita catches Margaurite in Julius's office and gives her a little chit chat about how sad he was when she left, and that how pleased she is that he will be happy again.

Then one night Margaurite and Christian go out and have some Mother & son bonding time, to get to know each other. They end up being attacked on their outing and kidnapped. They are placed in some kind of dungeon, both injured and low on blood, UH OH! Back at the house Julius is frantic with worry about his love and son. This is where the Argenau's come in. At once Julius tries to attack Lucian because he thinks that Margaurites memories which has to be done by a 3 on 1 memory swipe meaning 3 vampires on one vampire or mortal to erase their memories, very dangerous and powerful juju.

Come to find out that it wasn't Lucian who was involved in it, nor was it Martine, Jean Claudes sister. But that it was Jean Claudes best friend, and Julius's own sister who did it. This was found out by Julius's father Niccodemus Notte telling him how things were when he was a baby and why he was all under guarded protection.

Meanwhile back at the dugeon plae, Vita shows herself to Margaurite and Christian, and explains why she has done this, and the attacks on Magaurite, and proceeds to tell them that she is the one who was part of the 3 on 1, and that Jean Claude was indeed never dead, but was in hiding because he had found his lifemate and had turned her, and since he had turned Margaurite it was a big no-no for him to turn his lifemate. But Vita had plans for Jean Claude so he had killed his lifemate and his unborn child. And used Jean Claude to wipe Margaurites memories and have her son killed. And Vita killed the maid. Which explained why Jean Claude was such a monster, though it didn't excuse the treatment he gave to Marguarite. Vita was jealous of Julius, Julius was the baby and the only boy. And he was treated like a god where she was just treated like a woman, and it pissed her off. He was just so happy with life in general that it drove her mad. So she wanted him punished and used the ones he loved to do it. But this time she wants to end it all, Margaurite, Christian, and Julius's lives. But her plan didn't work out she was caught and sent before the council and executed.

Everyone eventually went back to Canada to wherre Lissandra had her babygirl. And Margaurite had finally gotten her Happily Ever after.

Demon from the Dark by Kresley Cole
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This one was intriguing with all the different landscapes that the characters live through. The prison where the Immortals were being held at, The land of Oblivion where where Malkom lived, the island wherre the prison is, and of course New Orleans. I liked how you were taken to many different places and realms, I also liked the fact that there was the language barrier between Malkom and Carrow for a good majority of the book. What I didn't like of this book, was the when Malkom would use Carrow for sex, but was basically on the borderline of hating him, because she had betrayed him to save Ruby's life. It was almost as if he was raping her though she hadn't fought him. I do however love how all the people of the Lore are coming together and one huge family/friend piece, which is great for the upcoming ascension or whatever it's called.

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I'm not really sure on how I feel about this book. I still can't stand Richard I think for the most part should be taken out of the picture, he's unbearable to read about. Anita, I think she is finally starting to get over her "I can't have casual sex, it's a sin blah blah blah" bit, but I doubt it, but it's really the only thing I find annoying about these later books in the series. I also am not too fond of the growing love she has for Nathaniel and Micah that's kind of (boring) anymore *Yawns*. I still Jean Claude, cause he does love Anita, and he's very tolerant of her having to have so many partners, does he like it OF COURSE NOT! but he's more willing to accept it than Richard is. It's like ok dorkface, she's a blood succubus, she needs sex to feed and live.... no she can't just have one guy, that's not how it works with incubus's and succubus's, they need multiple partners to survive. Richard one of his biggest problems is that HE DOESN'T FRICKIN LISTEN. Asher and the rest of these guys, it's beginning to become a depression fest with them, almost every guy in this book except for Jean Claude, Nathaniel, and Micah has been depressed one way or another. Really that doesn't motivate me to want to keep reading. I do enjoy the fact that others are gaining powers. But I believe that there should be more action back into the books as well as the sex. I think the characters are getting a little stale because all it is now days is long dialogue's about "feelings" and sex and who she's going to have sex with. I will continue on with the series because I do have a lot of complaints over it I do still enjoy most of what's going on. And I'm hoping Anita will change into an animal if not all of them hehe.

Into the Flame by Christina Dodd
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a really great series, I've enjoyed the whole thing. Of course with "Into the Flame" and with the cliffhanger of "Into the Shadow". You knew how certain parts were going to play out. But other than that, it was pretty epic. With lots of feeling, lots of action, there wasn't a whole lot of sex scenes in this one, but the love you felt from the Wilders you felt through this whole book, made up for the loss of the steamy scenes. This book was the conclusion of the 4 book series. I felt it did the series justice. Ending it with a glorious battle, and an everdearing ending which of course just makes you sigh with happiness and relief. I'm going to miss the Wilder family and their family togetherness, and their adventures.

Synopsis:
Had a conversation with Latoya Thorne, we discussed about how I am doing with everything and my progress in completing my treatment plan.  We had also discussed some emails I had sent her and the feelings she felt from those.  We also had discussed the issues I have with Colton being moved from his current housing situation, to living with his estranged father. And how she has talked to her supervisors about alternative plans in regarding that, and how the GAL is seriously pushing for this to go through. Latoya also understands my concerns and reasons for this to not to go through, and has recommended I speak to my lawyer about these legal matters.  Latoya Thorne also kept mentioning how she is NOT against me and her priority and main focus is re-uniting me with my children, in their rightful form.  Alexander and visiting him was also discussed briefly on how I haven’t visited him yet and plan on doing that at the end of August beginning of September. I also told Latoya that I am fighting my criminal case, and should’ve fought my CPS case as well, she told me I may still have time to appeal this if I hurry.

This one was seriously confusing I kept getting lost on where I was at, and it didn't hold my attention like the others did. I hope Mr. Pike redeems himself with at least one more book. Because it seemed like there's going to be with the whole internet game thing and what not. But we shall see and I am curious as to what goes on with Sita and Matt, if their destinies are meant to be together or separated. Since he is Yaksha's son, and Yaksha loved Sita so much, that maybe his son and Sita will be soulmates. Hmmmm I guess we shall see if there is indeed another book.
